1. The National and Local Emergency Operation Command at the Disaster Management Center has been activated. 2. Pre-positioning, Mobilisation and & redeployment of assets/resources are already underway. 3. Evacuation Inhabitants in Agalega to Tsunami Tower in North Island is in progress. 4. Evacuation fishermen at St Brandon to Raphael Island in progress. 5. All islets around Mauritius are sanitised 4. Tsunami Alarms being used to sensitize people along beaches Hotel Managers, Boat Houses, Restaurants and Public being sensitized

Tsunami Warning maintained and strengthened. Evacuation of inhabitants in Agalega island from South island to North island underway. Evacuation fishermen at St Brandon to Raphael Island in progress Evacuation of 6 vulnerable communities in Mauritius and 1 in Rodrigues in progress. As at 15h00 LT 345 inhabitants in Agalega, 27 fishermen in St Brandon, 11419 inhabitants in Mauritius, 131 in Rodrigues have been evacuated. Evacuation of ships and other vessels at the port in Mauritius and Rodrigues in higher seas being considered. 51 hotels in low lying areas on alert and ready for evacuation if necessary.

Tsunami wave activity is being observed all along the West coast and in Tamil Nadu on the East coast of India. Public are still advised to stay back in the rescue centres.

Tsunami Warning maintained for Mauritius, Rodrigues, St Brandon and Agalega. Evacuation completed at all locations previously mentioned. At the harbour a simulated evacuation process was carried out. Slight anomaly in sea level observed at Rodrigues.Monitoring of sea level from other tide gauge stations are ongoing.

No Tsunami Warning in force in the Republic of Mauritius Observations from tide gauges in Mauritius and Rodrigues shows that waves higher than 0.5 m are no longer being recorded after the passage of the highest amplitude wave. The tsunami warning is waived. However, due to strong currents that may persist in the coming hours, the public is advised not to go out at sea for the next 6 to 12 hours. The National Emergency Operation Command at the Disaster Management Center remains activated for post impact analysis. Evacuated people are gradually being brought back to their houses.
