This bulletin applies to areas within and bordering the Indian Ocean. It is issued
in support of the UNESCO/IOC Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (IOTWS).

1. EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION (preliminary)
IOTWS-TSP INDONESIA has detected an earthquake with the following details:

   Depth      : 618km
   Date       : 10 Jan 2017
   Origin Time: 06:13:48 UTC
   Latitude   : 4.44N
   Longitude  : 122.70E
   Location   : Celebes Sea

2. EVALUATION
Based on pre-run model scenarios, there is a POTENTIAL TSUNAMI THREAT
to countries in the Indian Ocean.

IOTWS-TSP INDONESIA will monitor sea level gauges and report if any tsunami
wave activity has occurred.

3. ADVICE
This bulletin is being issued as advice. Only national/state/local
authorities and disaster management officers have the authority to
make decisions regarding the official threat and warning status in
their coastal areas and any action to be taken in response.

bulletins issued by the National Tsunami Warning Centres (NTWCs) of
IOTWS member states. The tsunami warning status reported by NTWCs for
